Church Stretton Horse (& Dog) Show is an annual one day show that has been going for over 50 years and is a great day out for all the family. Each year the show raises valuable money for local and national charities and is wholly organized and run by a team of volunteers.

The show is currently held at Green Farm, Longnor by kind permission of Mr & Mrs J Thomas in an area of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the South Shropshire Hills .

There are a wide number of classes with something to suit everyone including in hand showing, working hunter, handy pony, clear round jumping, dressage, show jumping, driving and gymkhana. And don’t forget the hotly contested Mounted Fancy Dress!

There’s also a Team Events in the showjumping – why not get together with a few friends competing in the same class and enter a team? Not only will you increase your chances of winning, you’ll have great fun cheering on your team mates too!

The dog show also has a number of classes suited to all ages of dog and handler. With classes for pedigree dogs to a class for “the dog with the waggiest tail” Crufts it certainly isn’t but fun it certainly is.

As well as rosettes the show has a number of cups if you’re feeling competitive and have a little spare space in your trophy cabinet.

Entry to the show is free with plenty of free parking with easy access for horse boxes and lorries. The grass show field is flat and is an ideal place for novice riders and horses to “learn the ropes”.  The show is geared towards helping beginners & novices progress to the next level with plenty of experienced help available on site for anyone that wants or needs it.
